Lean Muscle? No Way? Yes Whey!

June 22nd, 2010 No comments

I have long tried to avoid the use of dietary supplements in my diet plan. I wanted to accomplish my weight loss goals with as little assistance as possible. However, I have gotten to the point where I am a little bored and I want to challenege myself and see increased gains.  One of the things I worried about when I started my weight lifting routine was getting too bulky. I have started to see increased bulk due to my diet and my lifting routine. Whey protein along with a low calorie diet helps to ensure that I keep a lean, tight figure and not turn into the hulk. This past weekend I bought Whey Protein Isolate from Species Evolutionary Nutrition. I plan to start using it consistently as of today.  Here are some quick facts on whey protein.

Unfortunately this is not free base cocaine, its just whey protein.

What Is It?

Whey protein is a by-product of cheese production.  It is a  liquid material mixture of globular proteins isolated that is the best source of protein.

Benefits

  • Encourages lean muscle mass.
  • It is useful for weight loss, specifically fat loss, as it is low in calories and high in protein
  • It may help prevent cancer
  • Can help improve cognitive performance under stress

Isolyze Whey Protein Isolate by Species Evolutionary Nutrition. No Sugar. No Lactose. No Fat.

Side Effects of Whey Protein

  • Allergic reactions for people who are lactose intolerant (There are lactose free whey products, I bought one because  I am lactose intolerant)
  • There are also some concernes about long term excess protein intake and the damage it may cause to ones liver, kidney and its role in  the onset of osteoparosis

I’ll be using whey protein and report back on my findings. I hope to come away impressed.
