Hey! I found your site because of the name and my weight. Looks like a lot of good content. I spend too much time pushing paper and not enough pushing other stuff. Thank you for posting and coaching like this - I hope you get a lot more traffic and keep it up!

Austin -- its always great to hear from another former fatty on here, like you Jim and I both know the great feelings that come along with changing your life around for the better and getting fit and healthy.

Now that youre a trainer you should use what you know to help other achieve the same success because if theres one feeling that's better than losing the weight yourself its helping someone else reach those same goals.

Good luck in the future and keep us posted on how your life as a trainer goes!

Over the past year and a half I have successfully lost 140 pounds and I have never felt better. I have eliminated so many risk factors for many different types of illnesses and diseases. Besides being more healthy I look great and I now know anything I put my mind into I can accomplish. Losing the weight didn't only make myself look better, it changed my entire outlook on life and now I have something better to life for. Now, ACE PT certified (never would have expected this a year and a half ago) I have many to thank, one being the maker of this website Tim; the long nights of studying together over the internet finally paid off and now we are both certified personal trainers. Tim I wish you the best of look throughout the rest of your journey and lets change the world together.

Our stories are similar and we both know what it takes because, Whatever it Takes is What it Takes!

I freakin love hummus... try making your own pita chips by cutting some 100% whole wheat pitas into squares, brushing with olive oil, and baking @ 350 for like 10mins. So good on the lips and not that bad on your hips ;)

The role of carbohydrates in a weight loss plan is pretty well debated and theres solid arguments on both sides of the no carb battle.

I think that for someone trying to lose weight, low-carb(not no-carb) is the way to go. Your body needs carbs for fuel(think about carbs as fuel and your body as a car) especially if youre going to be doing anything strenuous(exercise etc..).

However that doesnt mean you should be eating a bag of lays sour cream and onion before you lift... definitely stick to the carbs listed on our nutrition section(100% whole wheat means quite a treat). Also try to limit your carb intake to earlier in the day as chances are that later in the day you wont really be pushing your body hard enough to warrant filling up your tank with fuel!

If you have any more questions or something I said is incoherent rambling(likely scenario)... just leave your questions here!
